In 2000, Dr. Bettina Lieske received her degree from Friedrich Schiller University in Jena, Germany. She later completed her research at Friedrich Schiller University, earning a doctorate in medicine in 2003, before beginning her surgical training in the UK. She finished both her higher surgical training and her basic surgical training in the UK. She received the FRCS in 2010 and the Certificate of Completion of Study in 2011 after completing her last year of training at the Department of Colorectal Surgery at Oxford University Hospital. She became interested in medical education while training as a surgeon. After receiving an Oxford Educational Fellowship and a Diploma in Medical Education (Dundee) in 2008, she went on to get an MA in Clinical Education in 2011. Dr. Bettina took a break from her Singaporean practise in 2014 and spent three months in Basingstoke, UK, at the National Centre for Pseudomyxoma Peritonei. She received training in the technique known as ""Cytoreductive Surgery with Heated Intra-Peritoneal Chemotherapy,"" and she is now authorised to practise it in Singapore.
