Dr. C.G. Venkitachalam

Before coming to the United Arab Emirates, Dr. Venkitachalam worked for more than 17 years as a professor of cardiology at the Sree Chitra Institute of Medical Sciences and Technology in India. He practised medicine in Abu Dhabi for more than ten years at a prestigious government hospital before joining Burjeel Hospital. With a focus on patients with heart rhythm problems, heart failure, and coronary heart disease, he has considerable experience treating all prevalent acute and chronic cardiac illnesses. He has a special interest in paediatric cardiology and interventional cardiology, including coronary angiography, complex coronary angioplasty, stenting, and permanent pacemaker implantation (diagnosis of congenital heart defects, performing diagnostic procedures such as echocardiograms, cardiac catheterizations and for the ongoing management of the sequelae of heart disease in infants, children, and adolescents). Dr. Venkitachalam oversaw a clinical research and instruction programme while serving as an honorary visiting professor at Boston Children's Hospital. Exercise ECG and Thallium tests, Holter Monitoring, M-Mode, 2D and Doppler Echography, Permanent and Temporary Pacemaker Implantation, Right and Left Heart Catherization, Diagnostic Coronary Angiography, Angioplasty and Stenting, Pulmonary Angiograms, Intra-aortic Balloon Insertion, Vena Caval Filters, Primary PTCA and Stenting, are all procedures that Dr. Adel has experience with.
