Dr. Mohammed Rehan Sayeed

Dr. Mohammed Rehan Sayeed received his basic medical education and general surgical training at the reputed Madras Medical College. He received his Masters in Cardiothoracic Surgery from Apollo Hospitals in Chennai and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. He graduated as the Chief Resident from Boston University and went on to complete his Pediatric Cardiac Surgery training at The Children's Hospital of Boston and Harvard Medical School. He received his residency in Heart Failure Surgery and Heart Transplantation at the famed Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Ohio, where he also received training in Minimal Access Valve Repair Surgery and difficult aortic procedures. He has a lot of firsts to his name. He was the first to do endoscopic cardiac surgery in South India and is the proud owner of the world's biggest series of Minimal access off-pump bypass surgery. In India, he was a pioneer in hybrid heart surgery, undertaking adult and paediatric hybrid procedures. He has always been an inventor, always seeking new horizons, and has been actively involved in the creation of apparatus to make minimal access heart surgery simple, reproducible, and safe. He has trained numerous surgeons in this field and has been a featured speaker on minimal access cardiac surgery at several national and international conferences. He performs 80-90 percent of his procedures with minimum access and has the country's largest single surgeon series.
