BIOGRAPHY

At Toronto General Hospital, Dr. Alonso-Gonzalez currently oversees the Adult Congenital Heart Disease programme. From 2009 and 2011, he finished his ACHD fellowship at the Royal Brompton Hospital in London, UK, and his specialized cardiology training in Badajoz and Madrid, Spain. While serving as the Head of the Pulmonary Hypertension Unit in Badajoz, Spain, in 2011, he was selected as a staff cardiologist. He relocated in 2012 to the Royal Brompton Hospital in London, UK, where he now works as a consultant cardiologist for pulmonary hypertension and ACHD. He created the ACHD Heart Failure Unit while serving as the director of the ACHD inpatient services. In addition to serving as the Fellowship director, he joined the Toronto ACHD Unit in 2018.
