BIOGRAPHY

At Al Mustansiriya Medical College in Iraq, Dr. Wael earned his M.B.Ch.B. He then received his Fellowship from the Iraqi Board of Medical Specialization in Internal Medicine. Both a C.A.B.M. in internal medicine and an F.I.C.M.S. in nephrology were awarded to him. Both the American College of Physicians and the American Society of Nephrology awarded Dr. Wael fellowships in 2012 and 2014, respectively. Since 2006, he has served as the department's chief of nephrology and dialysis at NMC Specialty Hospital. Dr. Wael has 19 years of experience. In the Al Kadhemya University Hospital in Baghdad, Iraq, Dr. Wael worked for two years as a Senior Registrar in General Internal Medicine and for four years as a Specialist Physician. He spent three years in that position at Al Karamah Teaching Hospital in Baghdad, Iraq, one of the country's major tertiary hospitals and known for its kidney transplantation programme. Dr. Wael has experience instructing and training medical students in internal medicine at Al-Mustanseriya Medical College as well as Iraqi nephrology board candidates in general nephrology and kidney transplantation at Al Karamah Teaching Hospital. He was selected as the esteemed Editor and Author of the Journal of Transplantation Technologies and Researches (JTTR) for the 2011 academic year, and the biomedical library has chosen two of his papers for publication (BioMedLib)
