BIOGRAPHY

Dr Dr. Al Prout Finished undergraduate studies at the University of Cape Town and a residency in neurology at the University of British Columbia. Prior to entering the neurology department at St. Paul's Hospital in 1993, the doctor completed a fellowship in neuromuscular disease/ALS at VGH. Presently working as a consultant at St. Paul's Hospital and practising general neurology with a focus on neuromuscular diseases. Chief of the Neurology Division of SPH/PHC since 2011. Member of the Canadian Neurological Society Federation (CNSF), the American Epilepsy Society (AES), and the former president of the Canadian Society of Clinical Neurophysiology (CCNS). Previously, he served as Canada's ambassador to the International Federation of Clinical Neurophysiology (IFCN).
