Dr. Anand K Khakhar

Dr. Anand Khakhar is now a Senior Consultant Liver Transplant & Hepatobiliary Surgeon and the Program Director for the Liver Transplant programme at Apollo Hospitals in Chennai, India. At Apollo Hospitals in Chennai, he has built the most modern infrastructure for successful liver transplants, complicated liver, hepatobiliary, and pancreatic operations. He does both living donor liver transplantation and cadaveric liver transplantation. Dr. Anand Khakhar collaborated with Professor Dr. Thomas E Starzl, who conducted the world's first liver transplant and is known as the "Father of Liver Transplantation." In Pittsburgh, he also collaborated with Dr. Amadeo Marcos, a pioneer in living donor liver transplantation who has conducted the most living donor liver transplants in the United States.
