Dr Aneez D B Ahmed

Director and Senior Consultant Surgeon at the International Centre for Thoracic Surgery in Singapore's Mount Elizabeth Novena Specialist Centre is Dr. Aneez D.B. Ahmed. He has more than fifteen years of experience as a practitioner in the field of thoracic surgery, with a focus on thoracic cancer. He passed his Fellowship exams at the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh after completing his cardiothoracic training at National University Hospital in Singapore. Dr. Aneez held the position of Head of Service of Thoracic Surgery in the Department of General Surgery at Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH), Singapore, before beginning his private practise. His interest in robotic surgery led the European College of Cardiothoracic Surgery to recognise him as the first member of the ASEAN cohort to receive a Level III Certificate Specialist training in Robotic Thoracic Surgery (EACTS). He presently oversees the training programme for thoracic surgeons in ASEAN and South Asia after taking breaks to complete advanced training in robotic thoracic surgery in Europe and the United States. Later, in 2016, he was elected as the Vice President of the Robotic Surgical Society of Singapore (RS3), and in 2019, he was nominated to be the organization's President.
