Dr. Barry Cayen

Dr. Barry Cayen has a BSc, MD, MPH, and FRCSC. Dr. Barry Cayen is a member of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and is a certified orthopaedic surgeon (RCPSC). His first two years of college were spent at Queen's University, where he earned his Honours Bachelor of Science (HBSc) in Biological Sciences. At the University of Toronto, he later earned a Master of Science in Exercise Physiology. In the future, he graduated from the University of Toronto with a Medical Degree (MD). Afterwards, in Toronto, Dr. Cayen finished his orthopaedic surgery residency. He received a two-year surgery scholarship during his residency, using that time to complete his Master's degree in public health at Harvard University and hone his administrative abilities while working as a healthcare consultant for a private consulting company. In 2010, after completing his residency, he was inducted as a Fellow of the Canadian College of Surgeons (FRCSC). Dr. Cayen finished a sub-specialty fellowship in hip and knee reconstruction, sports surgery, and trauma after completing his residency. At the moment, Dr. Cayen performs hip and knee operations at Humber River Hospital. His clinical interests include robotic-assisted knee replacements, anterior approach hip replacements, and ACL restoration of the knee.
