BIOGRAPHY

Having been in practise for more than three decades, Dr. Bharat Shah has worked with some of the best hospitals and healthcare organisations in the nation. He has also served as the head of the nephrology division at several famous Mumbai hospitals. At Mumbai's KEM Hospital, he earned his MBBS degree. He also received training at the same facility to become a specialist in nephrology. He next travelled to the United States where he completed his clinical fellowship in nephrology at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center and his clinical research fellowship at the New England Medical Center in Boston. Dr. Bharat Shah has a particular interest in diabetic kidney disease, hypertension, chronic kidney disease, and early diagnosis of these conditions. He serves as the West Zone President of the Indian Society of Nephrology and the General Secretary of the Mumbai-based Zonal Transplant Coordination Committee. Dr. Bharat Shah is a founding member and managing trustee of NGO's. He formerly served as a medical advisor to J.N. Tata Endowment, the Central India Kidney Foundation, and the Oswal Welfare Charitable Trust. Additionally, Dr. Bharat belongs to a number of organisations for professionals in the fields of medicine, nephrology, and organ transplants. Dr. Shah is very interested in research and has published a lot of work. Additionally, he has written several book chapters and volumes on renal illness and kidney transplants. Additionally, he is working on a number of ongoing research initiatives related to kidney illness and transplant.
