Dr. Ed Ashtar

Dr. Ed Ashtar has more than 15 years of experience and is Triple American Board Certified. His fellowship in medical oncology and haematology was completed in the United States at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland. He was also in charge of the NIH's oncology fellows at the time. During his tenure there, Dr. Ashtar spent a number of years instructing fellows and making contributions to research and writing, primarily at the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO). He was recognised as one of the top clinical research leaders in 2017 with the ASCO Merit Award. He eventually entered private practise in Washington DC, Maryland, and Pennsylvania, USA, as Professional Oncologists of the Greater Washington and Hematology and Oncology Professional Association LLC. He relocated to the UAE in 2016 and began working at Al Zahra Hospital Dubai, where he contributed to the creation of a cutting-edge Cancer and Hematology Center for all forms of cancer and blood disorders. As a result, Al Zahra Hospital Dubai was named the Best Cancer Center in the UAE in 2018.
