BIOGRAPHY

In 1998, Dr. Pirouzmand finished his residency in the University of Toronto's neurosurgical training programme. After that, he finished a year-long fellowship in spinal trauma and peripheral nerve surgery as well as a year-long fellowship in skull base and reconstructive surgery. He worked as the programme director of neurosurgery at the University of Saskatchewan before joining the neurosurgical faculty at the University of Toronto in 2003. While there, he also finished a Masters in Epidemiology on the subject of skull topographic organisation. His main research interests are in orbital reconstructive surgery, spine, peripheral nerve, and skull base surgery. At Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, he actively participates in neurosurgery clinical studies. At the University of Toronto, he holds leadership positions in undergraduate and resident education.
