BIOGRAPHY

Prior to finishing his orthopaedic surgery residency there, Dr. LaMothe earned his MD and PhD in biomedical engineering at the University of Calgary. After that, he completed two one-year fellowships at the Hospital for Special Surgery and Weil-Cornell Medical College in New York City. His two fellowships were in difficult foot and ankle reconstructive surgery for his second fellowship and orthopaedic trauma surgery for his first fellowship. Since 2014, he has been practising at the Peter Lougheed hospital with a focus on orthopaedic trauma and foot and ankle reconstruction. He oversees the surgical clerkship at the Cumming School of Medicine, leads the foot and ankle education for orthopaedic residents, and directs the foot and ankle fellowship. He also holds other provincial and local leadership positions, and he has received recognition for his dedication to orthopaedic surgery leadership and education.
