BIOGRAPHY

The National University of Singapore (NUS) graduate Dr. Lee Guan-Huei finished his advanced specialty specialisation in gastroenterology in 2009. At the Institute of Liver Studies, King's College Hospital in London, he underwent additional training as a clinical fellow with an emphasis on liver critical care. In 2014, he earned his PhD from NUS. In 2015, the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh granted him Fellowship. Dr. Lee has contributed to enhancing the clinical and scientific capacities of the National University Hospital's (NUH) Division of Gastroenterology & Hepatology, particularly in the management of liver failure and liver transplantation. Currently, Dr. Lee serves as the division's head and director of research for gastroenterology and hepatology. He has contributed to enhancing the clinical and research capacities of the National University Hospital's (NUH) Division of Gastroenterology & Hepatology, particularly in the management of liver failure and liver transplantation. From 2017 to 2021, Dr. Lee served as the Medical Director of the Adult Liver Transplantation Program at NUH's National University Centre for Organ Transplantation (NUCOT). The focus of Dr. Lee's research is the application of technological and biomedical advances to the study of hepatology. His current study is concentrated on creating new targets to effectively treat chronic hepatitis B. His further scientific interests include chronic hepatitis E, fatty liver, liver malignancy, and liver failure. He has published numerous studies in prestigious journals including Gastroenterology, Gut, and Molecular & Cellular Biology that have undergone peer review.
