BIOGRAPHY

\Haematologist Dr. Lim Zi Yi practises in Singapore at Gleneagles Hospital and Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital. He is particularly interested in treating patients with recurrent or resistant hematopoietic malignancies employing combination therapies that include cellular therapy and targeted therapeutic agents. He also has a strong interest in haemato-oncology and haematopoietic stem cell transplantation. He has knowledge of several types of allogeneic haematopoietic stem cell transplantation as well as general haematological diseases such clotting abnormalities, anaemia, and bleeding disorders (including umbilical cord blood and halo-identical transplantation). Dr. Lim has been in charge of managing more than 350 bone marrow transplants since 2006. After earning his medical degree from the University of Edinburgh in the UK, Dr. Lim completed his haemato-oncology specialty training at King's College Hospital (KCH) in London. He assisted KCH in becoming one of Europe's leading centres for allogeneic haematopoietic stem cell transplants while he was working there. He has served as a visiting consultant at the National University Cancer Institute in Singapore ever since his return to the country in 2011. He oversaw the adult haematopoietic stem cell transplant programme at Parkway Cancer Centre as well as the adult leukaemia service at National University Health System. Dr. Lim has been invited to provide presentations on the treatment of acute leukaemia and the use of hematopoietic stem cell transplantation at numerous regional and worldwide conferences. He is a member of various international committees on haematopoietic stem cell transplantation.
