Dr. Sarang Deshpande

Dr. Sarang Deshpande earned his MChOrth from Dundee University in the UK and his MS Ortho degree from Pune University. For the past 15 years, he has focused all of his practise on arthroscopy and joint replacement procedures. At Pune's Deenanath Mangeshkar Hospital, Dr. Hemant Wakankar trained him in joint replacement surgery. At the Endo-Klinik in Hamburg, Germany, under the direction of Dr. Wolfgang Klauser, he continued to explore and develop his competence in revision joint replacement surgery. During his training at Ninewells Hospital in Dundee, UK, under Dr. Ben Clift, he acquired a significant amount of expertise with infections in joint replacement surgery. From the start of his MS residency programme, he was exposed to arthroscopic procedures. He has gained the essential abilities to do simple arthroscopic procedures by working with Dr. Rajiv Arora from Sancheti Hospital in Pune. At the ARCUS SportKlinik in Germany, he completed a fellowship in advanced arthroscopic procedures for the knee, shoulder, hip, and ankle joints. Under the direction of Dr. Ludwig Boes, he furthered his expertise and discovered novel techniques for preserving joint cartilage. He has received training in joint preservation operations. Dr. Alex Staubli from Switzerland has taught him the nuances of High Tibial Osteotomy and Distal Femoral Osteotomy, procedures that realign the knee joint. Similar to this, he obtained a tonne of expertise working with Dr. Wolfgang Miehlke of Germany on hip arthroscopy procedures for femoro-acetabular impingement (FAI).
