Dr. Sonal Asthana

Dr. Sonal Asthana is a Lead Consultant in HPB and Liver Transplant Surgery at Aster CMI Hospital in Hebbal, Bangalore. With nearly two decades of experience as a Hepato Pancreato Biliary and Multi-organ Transplant Surgeon, he has amassed vast knowledge in the field. He received his MBBS and MS degrees from JIPMER in Pondicherry. He earned his MRCS (Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons) from Edinburgh's Royal College of Surgeons. Later, he earned an MSc from Canada's University of Alberta. He completed a Fellowship in Multi-Organ Transplantation from the American Society of Transplant Surgeons (ASTS) in Edmonton, Canada. He has extensive expertise doing liver, kidney, and pancreatic transplant procedures, clinical islet cell transplant, and surgical therapy of disorders of the liver, gallbladder, biliary, and pancreas, including malignancies and small bowel transplant. Dr. Sonal Asthana received her education at prestigious institutions in the United Kingdom, Canada, and India. His special interests include Hepatitis C care, Post-Transplant Immunosuppression, Hepatocellular Carcinoma, Transplant Epidemiology, and Ischemia-Reperfusion. He is recognised as one of the Best Liver Transplant Surgeons in Bangalore for providing patients with thorough medical care.
