BIOGRAPHY
The University of Amsterdam is where Dr. Hofer earned his medical degree in 1992. He then finished his PhD at the University Medical Center in Amsterdam's Department of Surgical Research. His one-year Microsurgery Research fellowship at the Bernard O'Brien Institute of Microsurgery at the University of Melbourne in Australia was funded by the highly prestigious Dutch Cancer Society clinical fellowship, which he received in 2000 after receiving his board certification in plastic surgery from the Netherlands. He was also the first plastic surgeon to receive this honour. From 2001 to 2007, Dr. Hofer served as the Chief of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgical Oncology and a Full Professor in the Erasmus Medical Center's Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
