Dr. Swapnil Rajendra Sharma

Dr. Swapnil Sharma has more than 8 years of expertise as a consultant in HPB and liver transplant. Dr. Swapnil is a graduate of Pt. JNM Government Medical College in Raipur and has an MS in general surgery (CG). Before enrolling in the DNB super-specialty training programme in GI Surgery at Jagjivan Ram Western Railway Hospital in Mumbai, where he trained under renowned gastroenterologist Dr. P. J. Haldar, he first worked as a Senior Resident at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, and GB Pant Hospital, New Delhi. Dr. Swapnil has worked as a liver transplant and HPB surgeon at a number of hospitals, including Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai, Global Hospital in Mumbai, and Apollo Hospital in Navi Mumbai. Dr. Swapnil has participated in liver transplants for patients with ABO incompatibility, the youngest liver transplant in western India (a four-month-old infant with biliary atresia), patients with situs inversus, and patients with Abernethy malformation. He also does sophisticated gastrointestinal procedures such multivisceral resection, hepatobiliary & pancreatic surgery, and liver resections in addition to liver transplants. His research interests include complex luminal gastrointestinal surgery, advanced laparoscopic and robotic hepatobiliary surgery, and liver transplantation.
