Dr Tan Li Yen, Elaine

At the National Dental Centre of Singapore, Dr. Elaine Tan is the department's head and senior consultant for orthodontics. In 2011, she completed the National University of Singapore's orthodontic residency programme and earned both the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh's Diploma of Membership in Orthodontics and the award for best international candidate for the MOrth examinations. Dr. Tan then completed a one-year Certificate of Competency in Cleft and Craniofacial Orthodontics at the National Dental Centre of Singapore, which was accredited by the Academic Centre for Oral Healthcare. She travelled to Taipei Chang Gung Memorial hospital to complete a fellowship in cleft and craniofacial orthodontics after also receiving the renowned Singhealth HMDP fellowship award. Dr. Tan also teaches clinical courses for NUS and serves as an adjunct lecturer for Duke-NUS. She instructs dental residents at the National University of Singapore's Faculty of Dentistry. In her spare time, Dr. Tan likes to travel, swim, and spend time with her two children. From the National University of Singapore's Faculty of Dentistry, she instructs orthodontic residents. Dr. Tan spends her free time travelling, swimming, and hanging out with her two kids.
