Dr Vivek Marwah

Dr. Vivek Marwah pioneered the advent of advanced Gynaecological Laparoscopic Surgery in Northern India. Was the first to introduce the concept of Operative Micro Hysteroscopy in India. Dr. Marwah established a Unit of Gynaecological Endoscopic Surgery at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, New Delhi in 1990, the first of its kind in India dedicated to Gynae. Laparoscopic and Hysteroscopy surgery. He is heading the Division of Minimally Invasive Gynecology at Max Super Speciality Hospital which is the first centre in India to be recognised as a Centre of Excellence by the American Association of Gynaecologic Laparoscopists and Surgical Review Corporation (USA). INNOVATIONS Devised technique of Total Laparoscopic Hysterectomy with Endosuturing, thus making it safer and better for patients Devised a method of Laparoscopic creation of Neovagina, for which was awarded the Kurt Semm award for Excellence in Pelviscopy by the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists Designed Marwah's Uterine Manipulator for operative laparoscopic procedures, which is being widely used all over South East Asia Created Marwah's Lithotomy poles for patient positioning during operative laparoscopic procedures which have been of immense use to Gynaecologists all over India Devised Hybrid Sutures for ligation of stumps or pedicles or bleeders
