Dr. V.P Gangadharan

Dr. V.P. Gangadharan Started as a radiotherapy and medical oncology tutor at Thrissur Medical College. In 1989, he was appointed Assistant Professor and Head of Medical Oncology at RCC, Trivandrum.The Medical Oncology Department at RCC was the first of its type in Kerala. With NCI and WHO fellowships, she completed a bone marrow transplantation training programme in the United States and the United Kingdom. He has worked as a teacher in graduate and postgraduate training programmes, as well as an examiner for the DM Medical Oncology programme at several Indian universities. He has given invited scientific speeches in over sixty seminars and professional meetings. He has actively participated in the mission of teaching the public about cancer prevention, early detection, and treatment through numerous camps and classes, as well as pieces in newspapers, periodicals, and audiovisual media. He founded the Cochin Cancer Society in order to provide cancer care to needy and impoverished cancer patients and to ensure that no patient is denied treatment due to a lack of funds. In 1995, she received training in bone marrow transplantation at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, DC, and in 1997, she received training at the Royal Marsden Hospital in Sutton, UK, and she was awarded Fellowships from the National Cancer Institute in the United States and the World Health Organization. Participated as the Principal Investigator in thirty-eight national and international multicenter clinical studies and served as the research advisor for ten postgraduate research theses, including those in Ayurveda and music. He has actively participated in the mission of teaching the public about cancer prevention, early detection, and treatment through numerous camps and classes, articles in daily, publications, and multimedia media. He founded the Cochin Cancer Society to provide cancer care to needy and impoverished cancer patients and to ensure that no patient is denied treatment.
