Mr Hugh Apthorp

Consultant orthopedic and trauma surgeon Mr. Hugh Apthorp. Mr. Apthorp is an expert in the field of hip surgery and joint replacement, completing 600 initial and subsequent joint replacements per year. His clinical interests include minimally invasive surgery, difficult and revision hip surgery, and hip issues in young adults. He also has a particular interest in rapid recovery hip replacement. Mr. Apthorp began his orthopaedic studies at St. Thomas' Hospital after graduating from London's St. Bartholomew's Hospital. After that, he relocated to Perth, Australia, where he spent a year working with Professor David Wood to hone his skills in complicated hip surgery.
