BIOGRAPHY

2015 saw the appointment of Nikolaos Karydis as a consultant at Guy's Hospital. For two worldwide multi-centre clinical trials in vascular access (Laminate, VALUE), he serves as the primary investigator at Guy's. He also regularly instructs medical students as an honorary senior lecturer at King's College London. He recently began serving as the London Deanery's joint training program director for trainees in transplant surgery. He specializes in laparoscopic donor nephrectomy, kidney transplantation from marginal donors, double adult kidney transplantation, pancreas transplantation, complex vasular access for dialysis, and laparoscopic peritoneal dialysis procedures. Additionally, he conducts donor nephrectomies, popularly known as ""keyhole"" procedures, for individuals who choose to give a kidney to a friend or relative. Assessment for kidney donation and transplantation, follow-up following donation and transplant, evaluation of vascular access for hemodialysate and peritoneal dialysis are among the clinical consultations he provides.
