At the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart - Agostino Gemelli University Hospital Foundation IRCCS (Rome), he serves as a professor and full professor of cardiac surgery as well as the director of the institute of cardiology, the director of the U.O.C. of cardiac surgery, and the director of the cardiovascular area. Director of the Cardiac Surgery Service and Full Professor at the Centre Hospitalier et Universitaire de Caen (France) from 2007 to 2012. Formerly, from 2005 to 2007, an Associate Professor of Cardiac Surgery at the "San Matteo" Foundation's Division of Cardiac Surgery in Pavia, Italy. He assumed leadership of the Center Hospitalier Universitaire de Caen's Division of Cardiac Surgery, Heart Transplantation, and Cardiac Mechanical Assistance in 2007. The same year, he was awarded the "Victoires de la Medecine" award in the field of cardiology in Paris for the "Resuscitation" project, which focused on using cutting-edge techniques and tools to enhance the prognosis of cardiac arrest patients.
