Dr Angela George

At the Royal Marsden Hospital, Dr. Angela George is a Consultant Medical Oncologist and Consultant in Oncogenetics. She specializes in the systemic management of gynecological tumors with an emphasis on the therapeutic application of genetic data. She oversees testing for inherited cancer syndromes as the Clinical Director of Genomics at the Royal Marsden and practices oncogenetics. Dr. George received her first training in medical oncology in New Zealand before transferring to the Royal Marsden and continuing her education in oncogenetics at the Institute of Cancer Research, where she received the Chairman's Prize for her thesis on the genetics of ovarian cancer. She oversaw the program's execution, which involves integrating genetic testing into the standard treatment of patients with ovarian, breast, and pancreatic cancer. These programs have now been adopted throughout the UK, and Dr. George has assisted in their establishment throughout the world. They have expanded to include many tumor types and revolutionized the use of standard genetic data.
