DR. LUIS BRAGA

The Federal University of Minas Gerais in Brazil is where Dr. Luis Braga received his medical training, finished his surgical residency, and earned his master's and doctoral degrees in health sciences. Dr. Braga joined McMaster University's Department of Surgery in 2008 under the Division of Pediatric Urology following completion of a 1-year Pediatric Urology fellowship in Rouen and Lyon (France) and a 3-year Clinical and Research Pediatric Urology fellowship at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto. He obtained his Master's degree in health research methodology from McMaster University in 2010 and is now the director of the McMaster Pediatric Surgical Research Collaboration as well as the research director for the urology residency programme. He also holds joint appointments in the departments of health research methods, evidence, and impact (HEI), and paediatrics, in addition to his position as professor in the department of surgery. He also maintains a demanding clinical practise at the McMaster Children's Hospital as a paediatric urologist.
