BIOGRAPHY
Dr. Bisleri holds the positions of Investigator at the Li Ka Shing Knowledge Institute, Cardiac Surgeon-Entrepreneur at St. Michael's Hospital, and Associate Professor at the University of Toronto. Dr. Bisleri is a board-certified adult cardiac surgeon with extensive experience in the full range of minimally invasive cardiac surgery. He has focused particularly on creating less invasive methods for cardiac valve replacement and repair as well as cutting-edge reconstruction techniques (he has developed a novel technique for ischemic and degenerative mitral valve repair). Additionally, Dr. Bisleri is a crucial component of the Structural Heart Program at St. Michael's Hospital and actively participates in the percutaneous management of valve dysfunction.
Dr. Bisleri is the only surgeon currently offering this approach in Canada. He also performed the largest number of Cox Cryo-Maze procedures in the country. In 2005, he pioneered the total endoscopic treatment of atrial fibrillation. He also helped to introduce the hybrid approach and combined epicardial/endocardial advanced mapping in collaboration with the Arrhythmia team.
