Dr C Sivathasan

He currently serves as the Heart, Lung & Vascular Center at Mount Elizabeth Medical Center's and Singapore's Consultant of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery. At the National Heart Centre in Singapore, Dr. Sivathasan also holds many positions, including Program Director of the Mechanical Heart Devices and Co-Director of the Heart/Lung Transplantation programmes. He served as the program's principal investigator for robotic minimally invasive cardiothoracic surgery. Dr. Sivathasan is a Fellow of the Academy of Medicine Singapore and the Edinburgh (1980) and Royal College of Surgeons of England. He received his degree from the Colombo Medical Faculty. He played a key role in the establishment of several important programmes in Singapore, such as the Mechanical Hear Assist, the National Heart Centre's heart-lung transplant program, robotic cardiac surgery, and its dedicated non-invasive vascular laboratory.
