Dr. Damodaran is a pioneer in joint and replacement procedures and has 25 years of expertise as an orthopaedic surgeon treating patients with general orthopaedic care, traumatology, and other conditions (Hip & Knees). For his orthopaedic training in several hospitals over the course of 14 years in the UK, Dr. Damodaran acquired the experience he possesses today. Dr. Damodaran is a paediatric orthopaedic surgeon by training. He is one of the few surgeons in India to hold both an FRCS in Orthopaedics and a Master of Surgery degree in Trauma and Orthopaedics from the prestigious Royal College of Edinburgh. Dr. Damodaran is also a specialist in joint preservation surgery, including sophisticated osteotomies of the knee and hip as well as autologous chondrocyte and osteoblast implantation and regenerate procedures. Additionally, he is the only surgeon in India to have successfully completed bilateral osteoblast implantation at the same sitting. He has successfully done a number of hip and knee replacement operations. Additionally, he is the only surgeon in the US with a Furlong-trained Primary & Revision Hip & Knee programme. In addition to his expertise in orthopaedics, Dr. Damodaran also has a background in joint and replacement surgery. He is a member of the faculty for the Indian Orthopaedic Association UK Chapter, which prepares students for the FRCS tests in trauma & orthopaedics. Dr. Damodaran has delivered a great deal of papers and articles at conferences held all over Europe and has written a great deal of papers and articles for several international journals.
