Dr. Sharan Shivraj Patil

Dr. Sharan graduated with honours from MR Medical College in Gulbarga, after working briefly at St Martha's Hospital in Bangalore. Kasturba Medical College Manipal was where he completed his postgraduate studies. He received the D'Othro in 1990, followed by the MS (Ortho) with a gold medal in 1991. Dr. Sharan relocated to the United Kingdom for additional training in 1992. He worked in some of the most prestigious teaching facilities in the north west of England, including Alder Hey Children's Hospital, one of Europe's major paediatric hospitals. This orthopaedic facility, famed for several firsts in the field, provided him with significant training in operating on difficult orthopaedic disorders in youngsters. He also got vital experience at the Royal Liverpool University Hospital, Hope Hospital in Manchester, and Warrington District General Hospital. Dr Sharan received the prestigious Mch Ortho degree from Liverpool University in 1995, making him the course's youngest graduate since it began in 1926. A bright and pleasant job in England and the idea of going to the United States were both appealing. However, this was overpowered by a great desire to assist his own folks by putting his Western education and expertise to use. When the topic of reverse brain drain to India was discussed in the British media, he was extensively featured. Dr Sharan returned to India in 1996 to work as an orthopaedic consultant at the prestigious Institute of Manipal Hospital in Bangalore. During his time with this firm, he conducted over 5000 large complicated surgical operations on his own, specialising in Paediatric Orthopedics, Joint Replacement, and Complex Trauma. This gained him an unblemished reputation for providing high-quality orthopaedic care.
