A/Prof Dr. John Tam Kit Chung

Senior Consultant and the first Head of Thoracic Surgery at Singapore's National University Heart Centre is Associate Professor John Tam (NUHCS). At the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine at the National University of Singapore (NUS), he holds the position of Associate Professor with tenure. A/Prof Tam specialises in performing Uniportal Video-Assisted Thoracoscopic Surgery, a minimally invasive single-port keyhole procedure (UVATS). Since June 25, 2009, he has been performing Uniportal VATS lobectomy, and since that time, hundreds of patients have benefited from this method. A/Prof Tam has excelled in improved postoperative recovery procedures, pain management, and quality of life to maximise patients' comfort and wellbeing. He is passionate about training the next generation of thoracic surgeons in Singapore and Asia, and he oversees a high-performing team of thoracic surgeons with great surgical results.
