BIOGRAPHY

Dr. Amitabh has over 25 years of expertise treating patients with various brain and spine problems. Sree Chitra Tirunal of Medical Sciences and Technology was where he received his neurosurgical training. He also received his education at Bengaluru's reputed National Institute of Mental Health and Sciences (NIMHANS). He has extensive expertise with a wide range of procedures, including complicated brain tumours, aneurysm clipping, AVMs, Epilepsy and Deep Brain Stimulation, spine operations, endoscopic and minimally invasive surgeries, and trauma treatment. He has worked in all major corporate hospitals in Delhi for the past 14 years, including MAX, B L Kapoor, Indian Spinal, and Fortis hospital Shalimar Bagh, before moving to the United States in 2017 to pursue advanced training and fellowship in minimally invasive brain and spine surgery, including neuro-oncology / stereotactic radiosurgery and functional neurosurgery at UVA medical centre and AGH, Pittsburgh, respectively. He also received training in endoscopic skull base surgery from Ohio State Medical Center and was given an NTRI fellowship at Melbourne's famous The Alfred Hospital. He has a long list of publications in prestigious international journals as well as numerous presentations at national and international scientific conferences. He also serves as a reviewer for journals such as Journal of Neurooncosurgery and Journal of Operative Neurosurgery. He has kept up to speed on the newest advances in neurosurgery for the most common spine and brain illnesses using modern technology. His goal is to deliver maximal benefit to patients with the least amount of discomfort and morbidity possible.
