The co-director of the Rare Neurological Disorders group at the Montreal Neurological Institute and Hospital is the neurologist Dr. Bernard Brais. At McGill, he earned his PhD, MDCM, and residency in neurology. He has additional training in the history of genetics and the neurosciences.
