Dr Chirag Desai

He is one of India's most active oncologists, having extensive oncology expertise. He received his MD in 1991 and his DM (Oncology) in 1993 from GCRI in Ahmedabad, India. From 1993 until 1998, he was a Medical Oncology faculty member at Gujarat Cancer and Research Institute, a Regional Cancer Center in Ahmedabad. He began his Medical Oncology practise in 1999. From 2003 till the present, he has been a founding director of the Hemato-Oncology Clinic at Vedanta Ahmedabad. From 2006 to 2012, he was a founding director of Vibgyor Scientific Research Pvt. Ltd, which later merged with CBCC Global Research. Member of the Indian Council of Medical Research's practise guideline subcommittees for tongue cancer and lung cancer. Member of the National Cancer Grid's Head and Neck Committee. A consultant/Steering committee member/DSMB member for pharmaceutical companies/CROs for early and late phase clinical trials of NCEs/NBEs, Biosimilars, and immunooncological medicines. Member of the Scientific Advisory Board of iBioAnalysis, a firm that collaborates with the Government of India's Department of Biotechnology. Approximately 30 articles in national and international journals Invited faculty at the majority of important cancer conferences/meetings in India; member of four journal editorial boards Over 35 MSc (Life Sciences) and MPharm students have completed their thesis/projects under his supervision. His primary research interests are breast, prostate, and gynaecological malignancies.
