Dr Dinesh Nayak

Dr. Dinesh Nayak is a senior consultant neurologist and epileptologist at Gleneagles Global Health City in Chennai, India, and the Director of the Department of Neurology and the Advanced Centre for Epilepsy. Dr Dinesh received the S.M. Munirathinam Chetty Gold Medal for getting the highest marks in the final MD test while studying neurology (DM degree) at the Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology (SCTIMST), Trivandrum, India, a national institute, from 1993 to 1995. He was given the Dr. PN Berry fellowship for epileptology training at King's College Hospital in London, UK in 2000, where he got training in intracranial EEG and video-EEG until 2003. He was an active participant in the epilepsy surgery programme at the world-renowned R. Madhavan Nayar Center for Comprehensive Epilepsy Care, SCTIMST, Trivandrum, and has evaluated over 2000 drug-resistant epilepsy patients prior to surgery. He specialises in video-EEG monitoring, medically refractory epilepsy pre-surgery assessment, vagal nerve stimulation, and intracranial EEG monitoring. He was a member of the faculty at King's College Hospital's yearly video-EEG Master class in London, UK.
