Dr Karim Antoine Attara

In 1970, Dr. Attara received his degree from Cairo University in Egypt. He immediately left for postgraduate training in the UK, where he earned Fellowships from the Royal Colleges of Surgeons of England in 1974 and of Edinburgh in 1975. A master's degree from Athens, Greece, was obtained after that, and in 1991 he was elected a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. Over fifty years of experience are behind Dr. Attara. He completed projects at the West Middlesex Hospital, Isleworth, Yeovil, Bristol, Exeter Hospitals in the South West, and the University Teaching Hospital in Leicester while working in Europe, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, and the United Kingdom. Beginning in 1977, when he was appointed to the positions of Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon and Vice Chairman of the Orthopaedic Council in Kuwait, along with teaching responsibilities at the Faculty of Medicine at Kuwait University, Dr. Attara began his stay in the Arabian Gulf. He played a key role in establishing Kuwait's first scoliosis centre when he was there. Prior to joining Al Zahra in 1993, Dr. Attara served as Senior Consultant and Head of the Department of Orthopaedics and Traumatology at the Ministry of Health upon his relocation to the United Arab Emirates.
