Dr Mettu Srinivas Reddy

Dr. Mettu Srinivas Reddy is the Director of Liver Transplantation as well as Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Surgery at Gleneagles Global Hospital & Health City in Chennai, India. He specialises in living donor liver transplantation, paediatric liver transplantation, and surgery for liver, pancreatic, and biliary tract malignancies. He believes in a true multidisciplinary approach to treating adults and children with complicated liver disorders, and he is very concerned with treatment results and overall patient satisfaction. Dr. Srinivas Reddy received his medical training at the Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER) in Pondicherry, India, where he also completed an ICMR studentship in Pharmacology. He finished his general surgery residency at Chandigarh's Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER). He subsequently relocated to the United Kingdom to pursue a career in liver transplantation and hepatobiliary surgery. He conducted fellowships at liver transplant centres in Newcastle-upon-Tyne and Leeds before receiving the Royal College of Surgeons' FRCS in General Surgery & Transplant. During this time, he also did research at the Universities of Newcastle and Sunderland on increasing transplant outcomes through the use of new organ preservation techniques. This research, which culminated in his doctoral thesis, was partially funded by the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.
