Dr. Rita A. Sakr

Dr. Rita A. Sakr (MD PhD - Ass Professor) is a breast oncoplastic surgeon and obstetrician with more than 20 years of experience in the field. She is certified by the French and European Boards and is an American Fellow. Dr. Rita Sakr completed her residency in Obstetrics-Gynecology and Breast Oncoplastic Surgery at Aix-Marseille University in France after receiving her primary medical degree from St Joseph University in Lebanon. She subsequently completed her PhD in molecular biology of breast cancer at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York and her breast fellowship at the Institut Gustave Roussy (Paris). Dr. Rita Sakr received training in France and the United States before being hired as a consultant breast oncoplastic surgeon and ob-gyn in a number of hospitals, including Institut Curie in Paris, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York, and Assistance Publique - Hôpitaux de Paris. She was also a co-head of the Breast and Gynecology Care Unit for High Risk Patients and an Associate Professor at Pierre & Marie Curie / Sorbonne University in France. Later, she moved to Dubai where she worked as a consultant obstetrician and breast surgeon at the Dr. Sulaiman Al Habib Hospital, formerly the American Hospital.
