BIOGRAPHY

Currently, Dr. Alrawi oversees Burjeel Holdings' oncology services in the MENA and UAE. He is in charge of palliative care, research, and tertiary referral cancer centres for the entire UAE. Dr. Alrawi oversaw highly specialised surgical oncology subspecialties like colorectal, breast, head and neck, urology, gynaecological, sarcoma/melanoma, and peritoneal surface malignancy at Alzahra Hospital in the centre of Dubai, which served as the hospital's tertiary referral cancer centre for the entire UAE. Dr. Alrawi held the positions of Interim Chair of the Department of Surgery and Chief of the Surgical Oncology Division at Tawam Hospital from October 2013 to September 2015. Tawam Hospital is associated with John Hopkins Medical System. Gastrointestinal oncology, which includes surgery of the oesophagus, stomach, pancreas, liver, colon, and endocrine systems like the thyroid, parathyroid, and adrenals, is Dr. Alrawi's primary area of interest. The Royal Free Hospital at the University of London, Ninewells Hospital at the University of Dundee, and Roswell Park Cancer Institute in Buffalo are just a few of the academic institutions across the nation where Dr. Alrawi completed his surgical oncology training. Dr. Alrawi is a medical professional with the American Board of Certification who finished his fellowships in head and neck surgery and surgical oncology at Roswell Park Cancer Institute (NCI) in 2006.
