He is particularly interested in medical oncology/hematology, as well as how those fields intersect with fundamental sciences and other clinical specialties. He has a keen interest in clinical studies and developing therapies. This has merged studies including both fundamental research and all areas of clinical oncology. He is also interested in biological therapies that target various cancer cells' molecular targets. He was the first to introduce bone marrow transplantation to India. He has received honours from the Indian government including the PADMASHRI and PADMABHUSHAN awards, as well as the Dhanvantari Award for Lifetime Achievement in Oncology in 2005 for excellent contributions to medicine. A renowned oncologist named Dr. S. H. Advani invented stem cell transplantation in Mumbai and throughout India. He received his education at Mumbai's Grant Medical College before earning his oncology master's degree. He worked at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle, Washington, where he got knowledge in the field of bone marrow transplantation. India's top oncologist with 49 years of experience is Dr. Suresh Advani. He has worked in the fields of medical oncology and haematology since 1974, interacting closely with both fundamental scientists and other clinical specialties. He was the first to do a bone marrow transplant in India, and for his contributions to the field of scientific study in medical oncology, he received the Dhanvantri Award in 2002 and the Padmashri in 2003. The first oncologist in India to perform a successful bone marrow transplant was known as Dr. Suresh. He used her brother's bone marrow to treat a nine-year-old girl who had myeloid leukaemia.
