Dr Shirish Hastak

Dr. Shrish Hastak has over 42 years of significant expertise treating stroke patients and is the Regional Director Of Neurology, Stroke and Neurocritical Care at Global Hospital, Parel, Mumbai. For his contributions to the field of stroke, Dr. Hastak is well recognised on a national and worldwide scale. He trained in emergency neurological life support in the USA and was a member of the Neuro-critical Care Society. He is the most well-known figure in the world of stroke thanks to his preference for cutting-edge therapies and technology. Since 2003, he has served as the Chairman of the Rotary District 3140 (Mumbai Dist) Stroke Prevention Committee. Dr. Hastak has won significant honours for his outstanding work in countries all over the world. While working as a clinical research fellow at University of Western Ontario's Cerebrovascular Disease and Dementia, he was awarded an Upjohn International Research Fellowship. He received the 2018 Economic Times Award for India's Most Inspiring Neurologists. He formerly served as the Indian Stroke Association's president. The social impact of Dr. Hastak is remarkable. He was the first to establish a stroke unit in western India in 2001, the first to establish a stroke support group in India in 2003, the first to establish a stroke helpline in India in 2005, the first to establish a stroke website in India in 2005, and he has been actively leading Walk with the Doc since 2017.
