Profile (Overview)
Victoria Hospital (VH), a community hospital in south Winnipeg and an operating division of the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority (WRHA), provides a wide range of inpatient and outpatient services. It was established established in 1911 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. In the beginning, it was situated in Osborne Village at 424 River Ave. A 7-story, 250-bed facility was the subject of construction tenders released in July 1968. It relocated to its current address, 2340 Pembina Highway, in Fort Richmond next to the University of Manitoba, in January 1971. It now serves as a community hospital with 231 beds and more than 1,200 staff members.
Hospital (Infrastructure)
The hospital moved to a new location on University Avenue in 1948, and at the time it was the biggest and most advanced hospital in the province. There were 25 operating rooms, 900 beds, and a number of specialty clinics and departments housed within the structure.
