CORNEAL AND OCULAR SURFACE PROCEDURES-Astigmatic Keratotomy:
Astigmatism occurs when the shape of your eye resembles that of a rugby ball rather than a football, causing light to be concentrated in multiple locations within the eye. Blurred vision is one of the side effects of this.
Astigmatic keratotomy surgery corrects astigmatism by cutting one or two incisions in the cornea's steepest region. As a result of these incisions, the cornea relaxes and takes on a more rounded shape, eliminating astigmatism.

Refractive disorders
Light rays entering the eye are not focused on the retina in refractive disorders, resulting in fuzzy vision. The focusing power of the eye may be reduced due to the form of the eye or cornea, as well as age-related lens stiffness. When objects are far away, close, or both, they may look hazy.
Disease Signs ans Symptoms:
- Double vision is a common occurrence.
- Vision is hazy.
- A halo or glare appears surrounding brilliant lights.

- Headaches.

Disease Diagnosis:
During a typical eye checkup, an eye care practitioner can detect a refractive mistake. Typically, patients are asked to read a vision chart while trying on a variety of lenses in order to maximise their vision. It is unusual that additional imaging or testing is required.

Corrective lenses, contact lenses, and refractive surgery are all options for treating refractive problems.
