Profile (Overview)
One of the oldest general hospitals in Bangkok, Thailand, is the Bangkok Christian Hospital (Thai: ). located in the Bang Rak District on Silom Road. In 1957, the hospital's new outpatient department, complete with a chapel, dental clinic, lab, and pharmacy, opened for business. A few years later, the Inpatient Department and an operations building (1961, 1965) were added. On Surawong Road, an office building dedicated to the ""Church of Christ in Thailand"" was built in the 1970s. The 13-story ""Mo Bradley Building,"" which was dedicated to the first missionary and physician Dr. Dan Beach Bradley in Thailand, was finished in 1981. Currently, The Bangkok Christian Hospital has specialised departments and specific centres (International Refractive Center, Skin care & laser Center, Health Screening Center) (internal medicine, ophthalmology, ear, nose and throat, obstetrics and gynecology, pediatrics, orthopedics, surgery, radiology, anesthesiology). With its section of the same name, it also offers pastoral care in addition to medical care. The Thai expat community considers the hospital to be excellent and significantly less expensive than other hospitals of a comparable calibre.
