"The Children's Cancer Hospital Egypt 57357(CCHE), also known as Hospital 57357, is a distinctive healthcare facility and the pinnacle of what is possible when people come together to work toward a common objective. The hospital was completely built by donations thanks to the generous contributions of the Egyptian people and friends from around the world, particularly the Arab World. Egyptians from all walks of life banded together to build a cutting-edge paediatric oncology hospital in order to realise the dream of a better tomorrow for their cancer-stricken children. The Children's Cancer Hospital Egypt 57357 (CCHE 57357) is the largest hospital in the world in terms of capacity, and it was modelled after the St. Jude Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee in the United States (345 beds). It was founded in 2007 with the goal of offering all children with cancer who seek out its services the best comprehensive family-centered quality care and a chance for cure, free of charge and without discrimination. Since the beginning of the 57357 Project, the emphasis has been on how to offer the best all-inclusive quality care and a chance for cure. As a result, the hospital continuously provides a wide range of the most advanced diagnostic and therapeutic services to its patients, including chemo, radiotherapy, surgery, bone marrow transplant, multi-disciplinary clinics, physical rehabilitation, socio-psychological care, palliative care, survivorship care, and in-house education. The goal of this project is to not only raise the overall survival rate for children with cancer in Egypt from its current estimated low of less than 40% to between 75 and 80%, as it is in the West, but also to establish a new healthcare system that uses the most up-to-date scientific methods for management and treatment. After 14 years of operations, the hospital is currently recording an average overall survival rate of 71%.
