Profile (Overview)
With 250 active beds, the Hasheminejad Kidney Center (HKC) is one of the most well-known medical facilities in the entire nation. It stands out for being the only facility entirely devoted to the specialties of urology and nephrology in Tehran. As the first hospital in Iran to develop a regular programme for kidney transplantation, HKC made its mark on Iranian medical history (1983). Since then, HKC has continued to lead the way in technological advancements. In addition to performing nearly 2000 transplants with graft survival rates significantly higher than the national average, HKC has sustained a well-established training programme that has produced successive generations of urologists, internists, nephrologists, and radiologists, as well as subspecialty courses thereof. Currently, HKC has the most comprehensive of advanced diagnostic and treatment facilities related to treating ailments of the urinary system.
