BIOGRAPHY

Head and Senior Consultant for the Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery at the National Heart Centre Singapore is Clinical Assistant Professor Tan Teing Ee (NHCS). He oversees the NHCS Heart Transplant and Mechanical Assist Device Programs as the Chief Medical Informatics Officer. Cardiothoracic surgery (adult), robotic/minimally invasive heart surgery, heart-lung transplant, mechanical heart assist device, and pacemaker lead extraction are Clin Asst Prof Tan's areas of specialist interest. From the National University of Singapore, he earned his bachelor's degree in medicine and surgery in 1989. Clin Asst Prof Tan completed his cardiothoracic surgery fellowship in 2001 at Westmead Hospital in NSW, Australia, and in 2002 at Mt Sinai Hospital in New York, USA. He has been a Fellow of the Academy of Medicine Singapore since 2003 and a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh, since 1995.
