Dr. Anandakumar Vellasamy

A board-certified orthopaedic specialist surgeon with Swiss fellowship training who specialises in difficult foot and ankle disorders, including sports injuries and lower limb trauma, Dr. Anandakumar Vellasamy has a subspecialty interest in these conditions. For end-stage ankle arthritis, Dr. Ananda successfully carried out the region's first lateral total ankle replacement surgery. His skill set for doing minimally invasive surgery ranges from the treatment of calcaneal fractures to the correction of foot and ankle deformities like flat feet and bunions. The National University of Singapore (NUS) awarded Dr. Ananda a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Science (MBBS) degree in 2003. During his time working as a houseman in medicine, he won the Best Houseman Award. He continued his postgraduate training in orthopaedic surgery and earned his fellowship from the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh, United Kingdom. In 2014, Dr. Ananda was in the final year of his orthopaedic residency when he was given the N. Balachandran Memorial Lectureship prize. He also received the renowned AO Trauma fellowship prize the following year, in 2015.
