Dr. JAGTAP RANJIT RAMCHANDRA

Dr. Ranjit Jagtap completed his M.S. in General Surgery at B J Medical College under the direction of Dr. M. J. Joshi, a well-known general surgeon and renowned gastrointestinal surgeon with a focus on liver surgery. During his time at the University of Pune, Dr. Jagtap won gold medals in general surgery for both his M.B.B.S. and M.S. degrees. At K.E.M.Hospital and Seth G. S. Medical College in Mumbai, he completed his Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery training (M.Ch.) under the direction of Dr. G. B. Parulkar, one of the pioneers in this field. Then, under the direction of Dr. W. J. Brawn, a renowned paediatric heart surgeon, he completed advanced training in adult cardiac surgery at the Bristol Royal Infirmary and paediatric surgery at the Birmingham Children's Hospital in the United Kingdom. Since his involvement in cardiac surgery began in 1988, Dr. Jagtap has carried out more than 30,000 different heart operations. He actively participates in programmes for minimally invasive heart surgery and has performed a number of these procedures with excellent outcomes. His special areas of interest in paediatrics include newborn heart surgery, small babies, and neonates. Dr. Jagtap is an active member of the World Society for Pediatric and Congenital Heart Disease, the Indian Association of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgeons (IACTS), the European Association for Cardio-Thoracic Surgery (EACTS), and the American Association for Thoracic Surgery (AATS) and and World Society for Pediatric and Congenital Heart Surgery (WSPCHS)
